One-time installed cost
Include the machine, required enclosure/extraction/chiller/air assist, rotary or conveyor, computer/software setup, shipping, duties, nonrecoverable tax, installation, ducting, electrical work and training.
If a bundle includes an accessory, do not add it twice. If financing is used, separate economic TCO from the cash-flow schedule.
Recurring and per-job cost
Recurring cost can include software, insurance, space allocation, service, filters and downtime reserve. Per-job cost includes blank material, scrap, consumables, electricity based on total input—not optical watts—labor, packaging, fees, refunds and shipping subsidy.
A missing cost should remain a warning rather than silently becoming zero.
Payback is a scenario
Only calculate capital payback when the user-entered contribution and planned orders create a positive monthly operating result. Label it scenario payback, never predicted payback. If contribution is zero or negative, no break-even exists under those assumptions.
Label every number before comparing
A verified price is a dated exact regional quote. A user input is your tax, shipping, installation or local cost. An assumption is an editable planning value. An estimate is the calculator output—not a vendor fact or forecast.
Compare machine-only, complete installed and recurring operating layers separately so an inexpensive base unit cannot hide mandatory controls or accessories.
